Info
We are breeders ourselves, and therefore fully understand the stresses and strains of existing in an increasingly competitive industry. Whilst we of course represent our owners, our primary concern is to get your mare pregnant. To this end, we have chosen to import only stallions known to have excellent quality semen (that is why there are one or two well known French stallions missing here). Secondly, we have created partnerships with stockists/semen handlers in each country, who are considered to be the very best, to ensure that you receive your semen on time and in the best condition.
From time to time, there will be problems. We give you our assurance that we will do everything possible to help you get your mare in foal, we will occasionally perform miracles, but we remain human.
The easiest way of avoiding problems, is to decide as early as possible which stallion you’d like to use. Then get your order form in as soon as you can and make payment as quickly as you can. We cannot send out semen that has not been paid for in full, so please don’t ask us to send out semen the day before your mare is due to ovulate.
Breeding conditions:
• Members of NASFA or Equicours will receive an automatic 100€ discount on the price of semen. Non members of NASFA will receive one year’s membership.
• Semen from stallions owned by the Haras Nationaux are sold by dose. There is a one time booking fee of 250€ ($325), payable with the dose fee. The minimum order is two doses, and for this, you will receive one Selle Français covering card. Supplementary covering cards (mandatory) are sold for 60% of the dose price.
• All other stallions are sold by pregnancy with 1st October terms. NOTE, following receipt of funds, two doses will be forwarded to you or your vet. If you mare is not pregnant after two cycles and all the straws have been used, the third doses will be sent (transport costs are paid by the mare owner). You should read the contract carefully, there is nothing there to catch you out, but the conditions will be strictly adhered to.
• With certain stallions, supplementary covering cards are available. You should consult us if you wish to inseminate a second mare.
• All transport costs are the mare’s owners responsibility, and the transport relationship is purely between “ Equine Reproductive Concepts - Maryland ” or “ Twemlows - UK ”, and the Mare owner. If there are problems we will try to rectify them, but we cannot take any responsibility.
• EURL French Stallion do not accept any responsibility for the condition of straws once they have been removed from our tanks ( or the tanks of our stockists ), and placed in the transportation tanks.
• Payment can be made by inter-bank transfer/wire (for the organised) or paypal (more expensive, and for the disorganised!). Paypal can be accessed direct from this site, whilst banking details will be issued once we have received your completed and signed contract.

All fees to French Stallions are payable in Euros. For conversion into dollars multiply the € price by 1.3, and for British pounds multiply by 0.7 (these numbers are for guidance purposes only).
Definitions:
ISO = a competition horse’s own individual rating in sport.
The horse's highest ISO is reported; the date after the ISO score is the year the horse's highest ISO score was earned. The average stallion has an ISO of 100; hence Apache D'Adriers' ISO of 181 (1999) means that in 1999 he was 81% better in sport than the average Selle Français showjumping horse.
BSO = predicted genetic value taking into account sire's own performance and the performance of his progeny in sport.
The BSO is always reported with a coefficient of determination that ranges between zero and 1; the closest the coefficient of determination is to 1 the more reliable the BSO is and the more confidence you can have in its predictive value. Only 2% of stallions have a BSO of 20 or more. The coefficient is expressed thus (0.90) after the BSO score.
