Description:
One of the lost famous show jumpers of all time, Baloubet is a classic French type, athletic, reactive, fast, respectful, powerful, flexible. And something not often talked about, is that he is still at the age of 18 competing at the highest level.
Breeders should note this, as longevity is incredibly important, but rarely discussed.
Performances and Results:
His rise to fame began early at the age of seven when he became French Champion. An incredible competition record followed under the rides of Nelson and Rodrigo Pessoa. Baloubet du Rouet is the only horse ever to win three World Cup finals in a row: Helsinki 1998, Gothenberg 1999 and Las Vegas 2000. In the World Cup final held at Gothenberg 2001, he was runner-up, having tied for first place after three days jumping with Tinka?s Boy losing by just 4 faults in the jump off. No horse has achieved such a record in the World Cup series, 3 wins and two seconds in 5 consecutive years. To add to this magnificent record, he won team bronze medal at the 2001 Sydney Olympics and many Grand Prix and Nations Cups. In 2003 Baloubet won Grand Prix?s at Balve and S- Hertogenbosh . He was also successful in 1.50m and 1.55m classes at Verona, Bremen and Calgary. In 2004 Baloubet had another extremerly succesful year, winning Grand Prix?s at Bordeaux, Geneva and Paris Bercy. He also had another 12 top 3 placings on the international circuit including the gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games.
Strong points:
Respectful, flexible, powerful.
Comment on conformation offspring:
Baloubet produces big, strong, athletic stock who inherit their sire's great jumping ability, together with his unique, bold outlook. He is sure to produce offspring of world class, being from such a strong stallion line. He is great demand worldwide by the top breeders and his offspings are achieving substantial prices at sales.
Performances and Results offspring:
Two of his most famous sons are already making a big name in breeding. Balou du Rouet is owned by Schokemohle and Balougran Z is owned by Zangersheide and is ridden by Rodrigo Pessoa.
Both these sons prove that Baloubet mixes so well with the dutch and German blood.

Mares to use with this stallion:
This is one of the most expensive stallions in the world, so you need to get this right or you're wasting your money.
The best results seem to have come from outcrossing to Dutch and German mares who are pretty, well made and have good movement.
He will not give you a dressage horse, but if you're serious about jumper breeding, he should be in your plans.
